What to Expect on Your Sail Aboard Selina II

Every charter aboard Selina II is completely private — just your group, the water, and a 100-year-old wooden vessel moving quietly across Peconic Bay. Here's everything you need to know before you arrive.

Before You Arrive

  • What to bring- Selina II is BYOB. Pack a cooler with your favorite drinks and snacks — a bottle of wine, a charcuterie board, and a blanket make for an ideal sail. We provide ice. There is a toilet on board, but we recommend you use facilities at the dock before departure.

  • What to wear- Dress for the water, not the dock. Layers are recommended for sunset and evening sails. Non-slip shoes are appreciated. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are strongly recommended for day sails.

  • Where to park and meet us- Your booking confirmation includes the exact departure address. We depart from Greenport Village and Dering Harbor on Shelter Island. Free street parking is available near the Greenport dock. Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes before your departure time.

Aboard the Boat

  • Your group, privately- Selina II carries a maximum of 6 guests and every charter is exclusively yours. We do not combine groups or share the boat with strangers. This is your private sail.

  • Sailing vs. motoring- Selina II is a real sailboat — we turn off the engine and sail under wind whenever conditions allow. You may help raise the sail if you'd like, or simply sit back and watch 1,000 square feet of canvas fill with air.

  • The route- Most charters sail the waters of Peconic Bay and Shelter Island Sound. The captain sets the course based on wind direction and conditions. No two sails take exactly the same path — that's part of the experience.

Cancellations & Weather Policy

  • Bad weather Guest safety comes first. If conditions are unsafe, we cancel and offer a full reschedule or refund at no penalty. We monitor forecasts closely and reach out proactively. Light clouds and mild chop rarely cancel a sail.

  • Cancellation by guest Please contact us as soon as possible at sailselinany@gmail.com or 631-500-0763. We will do our best to find you a new date.

Special Guests

  • Children Children are welcome. We provide child-sized life jackets. For very young children, call us before booking so we can recommend the right charter.

  • Dogs Well-behaved dogs are welcome on most charters. Please note it when booking.

  • Accessibility Selina II is a historic wooden vessel. Boarding requires steps and the deck is open. Contact us before booking if you have mobility considerations — we'll walk you through it honestly.
